Let's get strong for runDisney "In Summer" with an online strength and running workout program

If I’m being honest, the In Summer strength and running program actually started off as a “whoops”. You see, when my co coach and I came up with Run Fit Fab Dopey, we were so excited to announce the program that when we did, everyone said “but what will we do until September?!” and that’s when a summer base training program was formed.

You can see here, a client and friend, Kris who recently finished her first Dopey Challenge going into the race strong because she started her base training with us in June. You’ll also notice her fuel and electrolytes, something we discussed heavily before her race season. In Summer is a 12 week program with strength, run workouts, zoom check ins, core and mobility to make your fall stronger because you started (you guessed it) “Innnnnn Summmerrrrrr”. You don’t have to be registered for a race to participate, heck you don’t even have to have a race in mind this year but if you want some well rounded training, community and fun this is for you.

One of the big perks of this program is that not only are you getting the mileage prescribed each week, you’re getting a pace and workout specific run assigned that will help you become faster and more efficient as a runner. The program is all hosted through a platform where you can submit videos, pictures and questions 24/7. Each month you’ll find your plan uploaded and we can collaborate together on your progress. One thing we also start to discuss is your current and future fueling strategies.

Clients who have completed In Summer have gone on to train and complete the Dopey Challenge, Princess Half marathon weekend, Springtime Surprise and Wine and Dine and maybe some other races you might have heard of like the Honolulu Marathon and the Chicago marathon, haha. This program is wonderful base training for half marathon training and full marathon training. Strength training is so important for runners and it’s important to have a well rounded routine to prevent injury. With a community like this, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world!

We would love to have you for our In Summer training. We plan on also having three virtual 5ks in the program because originally, we thought this went seamlessly with the runDisney virtual 5k series last year. And don’t worry, if you workout at home you can use bands if going to the gym is not your thing!
